Why to join this course?

The LEC training programme is the Energy Managers Association's initiative that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge required to reduce their personal energy consumption within the workplace and at home. There are four different stages of LEC training:

  • LEC 1 - RAISING INDIVIDUALS AWARENESS ABOUT ENERGY USE
  • LEC 2 - REDUCING INDIVIDUALS ENERGY USAGE (coming Spring 2017)
  • LEC 3 - ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN PRACTICE (Recognised Energy Manager status)
  • LEC 4 - MANAGING AN ENERGY MANAGEMENT TEAM AND ENERGY USAGE IN THE WORKPLACE (Recognised Energy Manager status) - under development

This taught course uses a variety of teaching/learning methods and strategies:

  • Lectures and seminars: These provide the basic foundation by presenting relevant knowledge, theories and techniques, but also introduce questioning of the evidence and assessment of data.

It will also help to develop skills in critical thinking, application of theories and in oral presentation.

Pre- and post-course papers: Course assessment, based on the course content, assesses the understanding and application of energy management.
