The EMA Energy Management in Practice (LEC 3) is a training programme that equips individuals with the minimum knowledge needed to operate effectively as an Energy Manager in the workplace. An Energy Manager performs an essential role in ensuring a company or organisation meets its energy, carbon and water reduction responsibilities within the context of wider sustainability imperatives - and the need for continual improvement. He/ she needs to be technically aware, numerate, have good communication skills both with senior management and energy end-users - and be keen to broaden and continually improve existing knowledge.

The EMA represents energy management professionals on an individual (ie: non-corporate) basis. EMA membership is split into three-levels: EMA Member, EMA Associate and EMA Affiliate. EMA Membership is open to all but only those who work or have worked in the field of energy and carbon management will be entitled to be approved as Members or Associates.
